Create - Student Blog Post Data

What did I learn that increased my understanding of Manaiakalani kaupapa and pedagogy?

It is always encouraging to listen to Dorothy's presentations and learn about the Kaupapa and the pedagogy and get inspired. Today's focus was - Share. I learned how important it is to share the finished work. sharing is the beginning of new learning. It was interesting to know that how our learners struggle if we do not teach them the importance of completing the given task and sharing it, from the earlier years of their learning. Teaching those small steps enable them to achieve their goals successfully.

What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability, or workflow as a professional?

As a teacher, I always plan for the work to be published but it is for me to look into if it is always getting done? Learning about how safe and efficient is the 'Blogger' cleared lots of my doubts about giving access to my learners as we are in the process of creating individual blogs for each of my students. :)

What did I learn that could be used with my learners, how could they use it?

I would definitely use the sheets with my students to create their own graphs. Also Google My Maps - Wow! what a great and interactive tool is that. I couldn't stop adding things to it even after the session was over. I can't wait to share this with my students and get them to have a go at it.

What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability, or workflow in my personal life?

I think completing and sharing to the right audience increases confidence not only in professional life but also in personal life too. there are many jobs that take a lot of effort to complete. I think I will grow personally also if I consistently think and implement the Kaupapa of Manaiakalani. Also today's session made me think that I should continue sharing my professional learning in the blog even after this amazing 9 weeks of learning.

Here is the graph that I have created using one of the student's Blog Posts' Data

Reflections - Week 2 DFI

DFI - Reflections- Week 2

What did I learn that increased my understanding of Manaiakalani kaupapa and pedagogy?

After the first week 1, I am looking forward to Dorothy's session to learn more about Manaiakalani, its history, projects and also to get a deeper understanding of its Pedagogy. In Today's session, I have learned about the process of learning and also how effective teaching motivates the learners to achieve at their highest ability.

What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability, or workflow as a professional?

I feel this simple formula, LEARN, comprises the whole curriculum of NZ and it underpins the effective teaching practice. It applies whether children are learning it Analogue or Digital Eras. Recognizing the effective teaching practice and implementing them in my everyday classroom program is something I need to constantly change to suit the learners' needs and abilities.

What technologies and resources that I use to Amplify my effective teaching and also my learners' achievement. After listening to today's talk, I did realize that I do use a variety of resources, activities, and various technologies,  to Amplify my students' learning.

Using the culturally rich resources encourages my students to get connected to their learning and actively participate and share their ideas and learning. It was great to see other teachers sharing what websites and resources they use in their classroom. What a TREAT! After last week's sessions, I have used the 'Voice Typing' in Google Docs. It was great to see my reluctant writers come up with great stories. they were able to use lots of vocabulary freely as it types for them.
