DFI - Reflections- Week 2
What did I learn that increased my understanding of Manaiakalani kaupapa and pedagogy?
After the first week 1, I am looking forward to Dorothy's session to learn more about Manaiakalani, its history, projects and also to get a deeper understanding of its Pedagogy. In Today's session, I have learned about the process of learning and also how effective teaching motivates the learners to achieve at their highest ability.
What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability, or workflow as a professional?
I feel this simple formula, LEARN, comprises the whole curriculum of NZ and it underpins the effective teaching practice. It applies whether children are learning it Analogue or Digital Eras. Recognizing the effective teaching practice and implementing them in my everyday classroom program is something I need to constantly change to suit the learners' needs and abilities.
What technologies and resources that I use to Amplify my effective teaching and also my learners' achievement. After listening to today's talk, I did realize that I do use a variety of resources, activities, and various technologies, to Amplify my students' learning.
Using the culturally rich resources encourages my students to get connected to their learning and actively participate and share their ideas and learning. It was great to see other teachers sharing what websites and resources they use in their classroom. What a TREAT! After last week's sessions, I have used the 'Voice Typing' in Google Docs. It was great to see my reluctant writers come up with great stories. they were able to use lots of vocabulary freely as it types for them.

Kia ora Chandana,
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more with you, it is all about effective teaching practice. Great to read that you are using voice typing for your learners as it is a great skill for your reluctant writers. I look forward to working with you during week 3 of DFI
